Finding Your Feet – The next step for amputees

During November, we have partnered with the charity Finding Your Feet to fundraise. Finding Your Feet is a charity is for help as support for amputees. They support families affected by amputation or limb absence through a range of sporting initiatives and social inclusion projects designed to positively support both physical and mental wellbeing. Isolation is a huge problem for many amputees.

It has been proven, that life expectancy is greatly reduced without social inclusion, with as many as 30% of vascular amputees not surviving to one-year post-amputation. They directly support amputees and help them prosper in every area of their lives. You can find out more about this charity here.

The charity was first founded by Cor, an inspirational woman to say the least. After a tragedy, she did not let this hold her back and founded Finding Your Feet. In June 2013 Cor nearly lost her life after suffering acute pneumonia and sepsis.

Surgeons were forced to amputate both her hands and her legs below the knee. After fighting her way back to health, she went on to start up the amazing charity, Finding Your Feet, so she could support families affected by amputation or limb difference and show them there is life after limb loss. Charity is recognized across Scotland.

We at Set Training have started a fundraiser to raise money for the full month of November. As a company, we have committed ourselves to a virtual walking distance of the NC500. Each member of our company has pledged to walk and exercise to raise money for Finding Your Feet. As part of this virtual challenge, we have a Gofundme page here. This amazing charity supports amputees from pre-op all way to supporting them in independent their lives.
