Here, we are going to give you some of our top tips to help you nail that CV. Keep reading to find out how to make your CV stand out!

Less Is More

Did you know that many employers spend an average of 6 seconds looking at your CV? While this might sound shocking, it is very important to know. When it comes to CV writing, less is often more. If you have a CV that is six pages long, then you are going to struggle to get the attention of the employer. Try to keep it to one or two pages and only include relevant information to make it stand out.

Prioritise

If you are unsure how to make your CV stand out, then you should consider spending some time prioritising. Think about what is most relevant to the job and make sure that it is at the top of the page. If this is a digital administration apprenticeship, for example, then your past experience of an working in an office would be more relevant than your Duke Of Edinburgh Award. Tailor each CV you send to the role and this will make it stand out.

Show Personality

Reading through CVs can be a long and boring process, so you want to catch the eye of the person reading it. This is why our next tip on how to make your CV stand out is to try to show personality. This could be through the way you write about your experience or in your cover letter for that particular role. Make sure to add an ‘interests’ section to tell the employer a bit more about you.
