Are you a business in Scotland looking to take on an apprentice? SET Training is a Scottish training provider linking businesses with apprentices who will fill a skills gap in their workforce. We can help you through the process of recruiting an apprentice and we can also help you with understanding apprenticeship funding and how this works for you as the employer.

The Apprenticeships We Offer

At Set Training, we look to partner with businesses in a wide range of different industries from IT apprenticeships to digital marketing apprenticeships. If you are a business who could benefit from an apprentice, you can contact our team today to find out more about whether or not you would be eligible for apprenticeship funding.

How to Pay an Apprentice

An apprentice is entitled to at least the National Apprenticeship Minimum Wage, however, you can pay more than this. You have the option to pay the National Minimum Wage and offer an employed status with a full contract of employment to your apprentices. You will also be responsible for ensuring your apprentice has the same working conditions as other staff members including sick pay, paid holidays, support and benefits.

Is Your Business Eligible for Apprenticeship Funding?

As an employer, you will be funding the wages for any apprentice that you wish to take on. The Scottish Government will also give full training funding for all apprentices that are aged between 16 and 19 and once the apprentice is over the age of 20 the Scottish Government will pay a share of the training costs with you, the employer, meeting the rest. SET Training will be there to help each step of the way and guide apprentices through the course work in order to achieve their qualifications.

If you would like more information about apprenticeship funding, please do not hesitate to contact a member of the SET Training team today for more information on whether you would be an eligible business.
